Any name across the world that is put down is useful, it shows one more person who cares about the situation, i'll put up a link to a lot of hushed up information about the RSPCA (not only towards reptiles, but all creatures) and you can have a look for yourself, if you dont feel appalled i'd be very surprised:

Have a good look through then ask yourself is this what a charity animal welfare group should be doing? Operating outside the law, governing themselves (an investigation into a complaint of the RSPCA is handled by the RSPCA itself!) and many more things beyond that.
Hopefully that will give you some indication that I'm not just trying to stir up something from nothing, but an issue that could very easily come to pass.
As for a petition, im going to get the ball rolling to start one that i hope you will sign, regardless of your country of origin, i'll then try and get it circulated to as many people as humanly possible, i hope that if i post a link to it somewhere here you can ask your friends (and indeed anyone you know) to support us.
