Legend of the Galactic Heroes -

I can't accurately put this anywhere. But LOGH is technically, a Space Opera.
"The story is staged in the distant future within our own Milky Way Galaxy, approximately in the 35th century. Unlike other science fiction stories, there are no alien civilizations. A portion of the galaxy is filled with terraformed worlds inhabited by interstellar traveling human beings. For 150 years two mighty space powers have intermittently warred with each other: the Galactic Empire and the Free Planets Alliance."
I love it. Very indepth, complex main and supporting characters, and no one is invincible. Unlike Gundam, tactics in space battles are used at the same time. If Amuro tried taking on one of the fleets, he'd be fucked. They ain't no cannon fodder boy. No cannon fodder. Besides, the ships clearly outstrip him, able to cross lightseconds in mere minutes.
I recommend it to people wishing for a refreshing change from all the current shows, as this old series is clearly one for people to think about.
