MMORPG's - A rant and observations -

Well.... it's high summer.... the AC's cranking... and I'm bored.
Plausibly, pukingly, irrevocably bored. Anyone got a cure for it? No? Damn.
Fine. See if you ever get any gifts from me ever again. Not that I'd spend the money to try and find any of you . It's just one of those things. Anyway, with things the way they are, I'm lucky to remember the birthdays of my nearest and dearest. Which means the rest of you are screwed xD.
I'm playing Ragnarok Online now, and have a few characters maxed out already. One is a Gunslinger, one is a Lord Knight, and the other is an Assassin Cross. The assassin cross is female, but eh.... like there are that many real female gamers on the interwebz . Let's be serious, shall we? Okay, maybe a little humor here and there, but honesty is appreciated in most quarters.
If you ever want to see just how much of a shithole the web is becoming, you just have to spend some time gaming in different servers. You'll get quite the education in gaming etiquette.... namely in the 'how to act like a complete and utter asshat while pissing everyone else off' category. I'll enumerate the usual suspects for you while I can:
Spammers - Yeah. These guys. Aleays whining in any language.... 'Plz guild me, plz guild me..... zeny, plz I'm poor'.... Go out and work for what you want you fucking lazy sons of bitches! These are the same asses who will.... after they grow up and leave home (in some cases).... sit at home, drinking their cervezas, and waiting for the Government check to arrive in the mail so they can go gamble/carouse/whatever and piss away any of their children's chances at something resembling a normal life ><. Of course, deadbeats and their lazy ass ways aren't the issue here, but.... well I digress .
Kill-Stealers - What fucking losers. You spend time working on some creature, only to have one of these guys stroll along, and then with one slice of their pixelated dicks kill and loot what you'd been sweating buckets of digital blood over. Nice fucking save, Flash Gordon. Now go play in the pool with the rest of the AIDS boys. Maybe they think they're doing you a solid. Doesn't matter. Never, ever go after something someone else is trying to kill. It's just bad form. If they ask you for help, then of course, have at it. other than that one instance, it's really poor gamesmanship.
Botters - How much of a lazy asshole do you have to be to let a program do your gaming for you ? Why not invent a program to wipe your ass while you're on the shitter too? Ooo, ooo, ooo! And make one to walk my dog and file my taxes while you're at it too! Schmucks ><. And no, that's not envy you hear in my tone... it's contempt. Lazy, lazy, lazy people are ruining a good thing such as online gaming. Why be online at all anymore? I look next to me and try to hold a meaningful dialogue with the guy next to me pulling balls of spiritual energy from his fist, and it's a fucking bot that blows me off. I want people to game with... interaction with people, not programs. That's what NPC's are for. And not in a cybering way either ><. But I'll get more into cybering another time. That's a different subject than the one I'm working on right now.
PlayerKillers - Y'know... this wouldn't be much of an issue for me.... hell, I don't mind the occasional duel in an arena setting xD. But to come out of nowhere, look at me, and then decide to attack me is just wrong. Especially when my characters just aren't kipped out for PvP action. ASK me first, you raging kill-crazy shitheads. In most of the servers I hang out in, it's frowned upon to PK away from the dueling areas anyway, so these jerkoffs get what they deserve in any case . Which is a good long ban (yay! ^^).
And that's about the worst of the lot you have to deal with. But I think it's the same in any MMO you play. The anonymity of the internet makes it too easy for anyone to just feel like they can do anything they wouldn't be able to get away with at home, where everyone knows them. Still.... you may think it'll never happen, but some day, when you least expect it..... there'll be a knock on your door, and it'll be someone who you don't recognize. They'll ask for your name. And if you answer in the affirmative, they just might pull a gun on you and fire......
Something to think about the next time you mistreat someone you meet in a chatroom, or a game server, folks .

Anyone have anything to add to the list of problem people, or experiences you've had?
