In this section of the forums, you'll likely see a lot of words like renders and C4D's, so I decided I would make a quick guide as to what some of the terms used in graphics mean.
Render
A render is an image that has been clipped beforehand, and you need to add the background and such yourself.
Stock
Stock is often confused with render, but there is an important difference. Stock images are unclipped, so have the background and light sources etc still intact.
C4D
C4D's, or cinematic 4-dimensional renders, are images that appear to be 3d, and are used to add depth and flow to an image.
Brush
Brushes are what you use in photoshop to apply colours or shapes to your images.
Flow
Flow means which direction the whole sig is going in.
This can mean which way the C4Ds/Brushes point, and which way the text is slanted.
Depth
Depth means showing the focal point off. The best way of this is to blur the background (Filters> Blurs> Blur), so the render stands out. Another way is to make a new layer over the top, set it to softlight, and brush the light parts of the sig in white, and the dark parts in black. Sometimes, with a bright render, you can duplicate the render's layer, and set it to overlay, then play around with opacity.
In short: Depth helps show your viewer what they should truly focus on,
while Flow guides them there.
Font
Font means what the text will look like.
