Well, a lot of people have been asking about how we select new staff, especially how we pick new super mods. So I'm gonna post this quick explanation of how each staff group's selection process runs.

Administrators
New admins are only ever picked out of the super mod team, however if the super mods lack the free time or experience other candidates are considered. The maximum amount of administrators at any given time is 4.

Super Moderators

Super moderators (also known as godmods, smods or gmods) can be selected from any of the following usergroups:

• Moderators
• Review Moderators
• Brigade Moderators
• Uploaders Team

However, we only ever have one Super moderator for every 50 members. At the time of posting this, the forum has 101 members, hence only 2 super mods. When we reach 150 members, we will select another Super mod, and another when we hit 200 etc.

Moderators

Moderators are selected for every forum, with a maximum of 3 mods per forum. Smaller areas, such as the Birthdays forum, only need to have one moderator. We select moderators every time a new section is added, or whenever the workload becomes too much for an existing moderator to handle.

Review Moderators

Review moderators are the guys who look after the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] of the forums. They are seleced out of the members who contribute to that section regularly, so if you are a reviewer you are eligible to have modship of that section. They have the same powers and responsibilities as regular moderators.

Uploaders Team

Members who regularly contribute to our [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] are added to our uploaders team. They receive moderator rights to the downloads area, which allows them to add, edit and remove pretty much whatever they think necessary in that section.

Brigade Moderators

Brigade mods are the guys who moderate subforums in the brigade forum. This will usually be the leader of the brigade, however they can delegate the mod rights to someone else in their brigade. Has limited mod capabilities.

Elite

Elite membership can be granted to members for several reasons. These are as follows:

• Donating to support our server costs
• Referring lots of new members to the site
• Winning forum contests
• Posting something of great value and importance
• Helping in a forum project, such as designing or planning new features
  

Elite membership may also be granted to members who offer webspace for us to store files, or who provide other helpful resources such as rapidshare and megaupload accounts for our uploaders.

Banned

You can receive this glorious title for being an asshole. End of story.

There's also the whole problem with an even number of Admins, as they will inevitably come to at least one decision that's a dead tie as far as votes are concerned. Rather, 5 or 3 Admins should be in use, preferably 3 at this point (Perhaps change it to five when we reach 300 members?)

This is why they convene until a decision is made, nani. So that there isn't a deadlock.

Yeah, there was a reason for there being 4 admins. It became apparent that when I went to college I would probably have a lot less time for the forums, so bill was made an admin. When it comes to a deadlock it's usually me and yonathen that make the deciding vote, and if not we take into account the opinion of our super mods.
