So, I know the pregnant one is bringing this up, but let's put that aside for now.
I want to know. . why do/don't you support it? Please state scientific, religious, personal, whatever reasonings. . not just. ."I do" or "I don't"

I don't think Government, or Society for that matter, should have a say in how a woman's biological functions should be handled. It's her body, and if she decides to abort, that's her own business and no one else's. I personally disagree with abortion.... it cheapens the Gift of Life. Yet so does war or violent crimes associated with anything money-related.


If the woman is given full and unbiased information about what she's about to do to her unborn child, and she goes ahead with it anyway..... the onus of her actions will be on her own conscience.

So, I should put up my opinion. .
I am against it. . completely. .
NO, it's not because I'm pregnant, I promise you that.

Reasoning:
I don't feel it's right for a woman to take advantage of her body in that way, aside from that physical trauma that abortion causes, the mental trauma is so much worse.
Now, I know some of you are thinking "what about if the mom is in danger?" Well, if the mother is in immediate danger, it is no longer called an abortion (n. the removal of an embryo or fetus from the uterus in order to end a pregnancy.) When they are forced to perform surgery or a preventative measure on the mother because her life is endanger, it is not in order to end the pregnancy, it is in order to help the mom. Not all cases of the mom being in danger actual kill the fetus, it is a side effect, but not the main REASON for the surgery.
And for the "what about rape?"
When it comes to cases of rape, a woman is offered a morning after pill, which is NOT abortion, it puts up a "wall" if you will so that the sperm cannot fertilize the egg. Aside from that, the chances of getting pregnant because of a rape are under 1%.
So, now that those cases are put aside, that leaves the woman who are conscientiously making a decision to have the fetus removed from her. Her reasons may be anything from I can't afford a child to the more cynical, I don't have time for this right now.
Now. . for these cases, I would like to say that there are so many options available that would alleviate the need for an abortion, including financial aid and adoption, both of which the government (in the US) will help you with. There are so many people out there that cannot have kids, and would love to love the unwanted, and give them the life they deserve.
It's not a child's fault a woman chooses to have unprotected sex, it's hers.

It's wrong to end a life callously, but what about world overpopulation? Humanity used to have natural checks and balances which kept the numbers of people alive at any given time low, so the ecosystem could support all life here on Earth. Predator species, disease, and an abundant/small food supply did this. Now, as we move into the future, the Earth is teeming with people, but running low on the apex predators which thinned out the majority of fast breeding creatures.


Because of religious or other ideological dictates, we're trained from the cradle, to be fruitful and multiply, correct? Well, when is it enough?


I admit.... I wish people would practice the use of contraceptives. It'd make the problem so much easier to deal with. But the same ideology which preaches being fruitful also frowns upon pulling out or other methods of family planning. And of course, there are parts of the world where the mindset is more is better. More means more hands for the fields to plant and reap the crop. It's a false assumption which has been the cause of much famine and sufering in parts of the world where the climate can no longer produce the crop yields it used to.


Abortion is wrong, but so is ignoring the other side of the coin.

I am against abortion partly because its useless to end a life of someone who hasn't been born yet but if you keep in mind you are only lets say 16 years old... what would you do then? If you get pregnant and get a baby. It will ruin your childhood and maybe even the one of the baby when he/she gets on earth.

BUT i will say that there is an exception to what i just said:

IF a woman is raped and gets pregnat after the intorcorse i belive that if she chooses to kill it , it's not wrong. I say this because i granentee that if you have a daughter and she is raped my some monster and gets pregnat you wouldn't want his offspring running around. It's sick.
