Besides the typical running marathons and obstacle courses...what else do you think they make you do here? O.o

I can't really vouch for the standards required by the american military, so I'll just go by the standards required by british army officers, which is going to be more demanding than for regular servicemen and women (the idea being officers should be able to do what ther men can and more).
Basically, aim to be able to do 44 press-ups in 2 minutes (proper pressup's, not the daft kind that women seem to be allowed where they are sat on their knees.)
On the running side, aim to be able to do a mile and a half in around 11 minutes and 45 seconds. Not too hard, last time I went for a run I managed it in 12 minutes 20 seconds, which isn't bad considering that I hadn't been for a proper run in almost 3 months.

Is this army naval or air force? Different things apply in each, eg you have to swim a certain distance in a certain time for navy and be under a certain height and weight for the air force, you'd be better checking with your enlistment agency in america for up to date requirements at each level.
L is right though, there is a huge difference when you apply for an officer or commando training instead of typical private-ship in infantry
well I'm not too sure on what they want..
and it's Navy...
^^ I know swimming is involved (gods I'm wishing I'd joined the air force ><)
even though I can't swim T.T

OMG ^^ youre joining the Navy! Good on ye lass!
Navy is definately more fun and less hard work than the Airforce and Army, also, females get promoted faster in the Navy (At least in Britain, probably the same in US)

Theres a tv show airing in the UK at the minute called " SAS, are you tough enough?" about some people applying for the Special Air Services here, the things they go through there are much much tougher than regular boot, found myself wishing id have the oppourtunity to get physically and mentally tested like that!
